We are debating whether to attend the Denver or Colorado Springs Solar Tour. We plan to build a solar home in Chaffee County between Salida and Buena Vista and are wondering if Denver builders will work that far from the Metro area or if we should try to find a Colorado Springs contractor. Or, to take if even further, should we look at Pueblo builders? I don’t see a Pueblo tour though.

Thanks!

Bill,
Alas, you missed the Pueblo renewable energy Expo on August 8. There are actually 10 additional solar tours being offered October 3 around Colorado, including some tours in southwestern and western Colorado! Here is the link: http://www.ases.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=549&Itemid=94

Of course, we’d love to see you at the Colorado Springs Tour, which will feature tours of the new UCCS Science Engineering Building (which just won a 2009 CRES award), as well as a self-guided driving tour of several nifty solar and RE projects around the Pikes Peak region. The Denver tour info is available at http://www.cres-energy.org/events/tour/

Finally, there is a CRES webcast on 9/24 called “Designing and Living in a Solar Home.” You may want to log in and view this interesting session. http://www.cres-energy.org/events/

Hope to see you on October 3! –Sherry
